Prospectors who came through this part of Utah, many of them with sailing backgrounds, called its long wall of cliffs a reef because it blocked travel like a reef at sea. Early settlers thought the white sandstone domes along it looked like the dome of the Capitol in Washington, D.C. Put the two together and you get Capitol Reef. The scene in this laser cut ornament design is red rock country, with a tall sandstone monolith rising from a pale desert floor under drifting clouds.

- Designed for wood. 9 different wood grains create the contrast and texture. No paint needed. No wood? No problem. Paint the pieces or use acrylic instead.

The files are sorted by wood species and the pieces are rotated to follow the grain, so your finished project has a clean, intentional look without you having to rearrange anything in your design software. We do this on every design that uses multiple wood species.
