Terms of service
Last updated October 10, 2026
This website is run by Welcome Home Custom Designs, LLC, a limited liability company based in Ohio, doing business as Welcome Home Custom and Designing for Lasers. In these terms, "we," "us" and "our" mean that company, and "you" means anyone who visits the site or buys from it.
By using this site or buying from us, you agree to these terms and to our Return and refund policy, Shipping policy, Subscription policy and Privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
1. Using this site
You need to be a legal adult where you live to buy from us. Please give us accurate information when you order, and keep your account login to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
2. What we sell
We sell digital products: laser design files, memberships, online courses and gift certificates. We don't sell physical products. The photos on our listings show finished examples. Yours will depend on your wood, your machine and your settings, and colors can look different from one screen to the next.
3. Your license to use our design files
When you buy or receive a design file from us, you're getting a license to use it. You aren't buying the design itself. Welcome Home Custom Designs, LLC owns every design, file, layout and set of instructions, and keeps all rights not granted here.
Our files are for personal use and limited commercial use, which means making physical products. Unless a listing says otherwise, you're welcome to:
- Cut and build the design for yourself or as gifts.
- Sell the finished physical pieces you make, at shows, in shops, on your own website and on marketplaces like Etsy.
- Resize a file or adjust its slots to suit your machine and your wood.
You may not:
- Resell, share, give away or redistribute the files themselves, in whole or in part. That includes passing them to another maker or business and posting them in groups or on file sharing sites.
- Use any part of our files, designs, artwork, structure, file setup, layout, layering format, numbering system, color coding, tab and slot configuration, or any other unique organizational feature to create or sell your own files, digital templates or competing products, whether free or for profit.
- Copy, trace, reverse engineer or rework our files or designs, or use them as inspiration, to make design files, patterns or templates of your own to sell or share. This covers the visual design, the artistic concept, functional design elements, file naming conventions and formatting. It doesn't limit the finished physical pieces you're allowed to make and sell above.
If you break these license terms, we may revoke your license immediately, remove your access to future designs and to our groups, and take legal action, including asking a court to stop the use and award damages.
Designs released through the Laser Art Society carry this same license.
4. Memberships
Memberships renew automatically every month until you cancel. Billing, cancelling and what you keep are all covered in our Subscription policy. Member benefits such as the member area, the private community and member discounts come with a paid membership, and they may change over time.
5. Courses
Enrolling in Designing for Lasers gives access to one student. Your access is tied to your account and can't be shared, sold or transferred. The videos, workbooks, templates, transcripts and live session recordings are for your own learning. Please don't copy, share or resell them, or use them to teach or build a course of your own. Anything you design with what you learn is entirely yours.
The course teaches Adobe Illustrator, so you'll need your own Illustrator subscription, which isn't included.
The course is backed by a 14 day guarantee, described in our Return and refund policy.
6. Safety and results
Lasers can start fires and cause injuries. You're responsible for running your machine safely, following the manufacturer's instructions, and choosing materials and settings that are safe for your laser.
We cut and test our designs in our own shop. Machines, materials and thicknesses vary, so we can't promise a file will cut, fit or assemble for you without adjustment. We also can't promise sales or income from anything you make or learn here. The results other makers share are their own.
7. Prices, payment and orders
Prices can change at any time. Membership price changes follow our Subscription policy. Taxes are charged where required. We may refuse or cancel an order, for example if a listing had a pricing mistake or a payment looks fraudulent. If we cancel an order you've paid for, we'll refund it.
8. Reviews, photos and feedback
If you send us a review, feedback or photos of your finished work, you give us permission to share them on our website, in our emails and on social media, without payment. You still own your photos.
9. Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no cost to you. We only link to things we actually use. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
10. Other websites and services
We link to other websites and work with other companies, such as Lasered by the Creek, Facebook, YouTube and Vimeo. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, products or policies. Anything you buy from another company is between you and them.
11. Our content and names
The text, photos, videos, logos and names on this site, including Welcome Home Custom, Designing for Lasers and Laser Art Society, belong to us. Please don't use them without our written permission.
12. What you may not do on this site
Please don't use the site to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, to send spam or harmful code, to collect other people's information, or to get around the site's security or the limits on member access.
13. No warranties
Apart from our promise to fix or replace a faulty file, the site and everything sold through it are provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and noninfringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.
14. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Welcome Home Custom Designs, LLC and its owner, employees and contractors aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue or lost data, that come from using this site or anything bought through it. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the file or course the claim is about, or for a membership, what you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
15. If your actions cause a claim against us
If someone brings a claim against us because you broke these terms, broke the law or violated someone else's rights, you agree to cover our losses and reasonable legal fees.
16. Ending access
You can stop using the site at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. The license limits in section 3 and the protections in sections 13 through 15 and 17 continue after access ends.
17. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Ohio, unless the consumer protection law where you live says otherwise.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change affects active members, we'll email you before it takes effect.
19. The fine print
If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce something right away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later. These terms, the policies they link to, and what the product page said when you bought are the whole agreement between you and us.
