Something a little different for me... inspired by the night sky, this moon phase collection is a quick and easy laser cut project.
These files are formatted for the Glowforge laser cutter. The files are sized to fit in the 20x12 inch crumb tray.
You will be only cutting in this project, but I have formatted the files so you can cut and score as well.
Supplies needed:
I used maple for the moon. I painted the outline black and left the pieces that I filled in to create the moon shapes natural maple. The backer is Hickory. All of the wood shown is 1/4 inch ply. I used spray adhesive to adhere the moon to the backer.
Each moon phase needs one 10.85 inch round piece of Hickory (backer) and one 10.85 inch piece of Maple. If you wish to create the whole moon phase then you will need (5)pieces of hickory and (5) pieces of maple that are roughly 11 inches in diameter.
This is only if you want to create the piece exactly as pictured.
