Wind and water have carved South Dakota's Badlands into jagged buttes and spires banded in tan, pink and rust, with prairie spreading out around them. This Badlands National Park ornament file is an intarsia style mosaic made from six woods, and the woods supply all the color, so nothing needs painting. The files are sorted by wood species and rotated to follow the grain.
Cut one for your own tree or as a gift for a national parks fan. It is a Scrap Buster, so it is a good way to use up the wood scraps in your pile. A set of ten national parks is also sold separately if you want to build a collection.

- 6 wood species used in the pattern: Cherry, Hickory, Walnut, Red Oak, Poplar, Mahogany.

- Kerf and no kerf files provided. The kerf files have a .002 inch offset already added, a one size fits most option if you don't know your laser's kerf. The no kerf files are for makers who want to apply their own laser's kerf.
- Color planner to map out wood species and painted pieces before you cut.
- Written instructions with a file overview and assembly review.

- For 1/8 inch (3mm) or 1/4 inch (6mm) wood.
- Designed for wood. 6 different wood grains create the contrast and texture. No paint needed. No wood? No problem. Paint the pieces or use acrylic instead.

The files are sorted by wood species and the pieces are rotated to follow the grain, so your finished project has a clean, intentional look without you having to rearrange anything in your design software. We do this on every design that uses multiple wood species.
